As its name implies, the AquaDomi Star Hotel is star-shaped. The star shape secures views and balconies towards the water for all rooms, and can easily be turned and adapted to suit different locations. At the same time, it creates three soft bays which allow access to the water for the key functions and provide natural mooring spots for small boats. The dynamic figure also provides the necessary symmetrical balance in the water, and reduces the length of the corridors.
The hotel concept has been designed with the option to be scaled from about 100 to 200 double rooms, with modular sizes ranging from 24 m2, and several suites in various sizes up to 100 m2. Beside its rooms, the hotel also contains a restaurant, conference room, lounge bar, hall, reception, personnel facilities, storerooms and production kitchen.

Quebec’s Eastern Townships combine Appalachian topography with land shaped by more than two centuries of agriculture to create landscapes that are at once comforting, dramatic and profoundly human. Minton Hill is the extension of a ridge that runs for twenty kilometres along the western shore of Lake Massawippi between the villages of Ayer’s Cliff and North Hatley. Lakeview Lookout, the site of the Minton Hill House, was originally a rest stop on a nineteenth-century bridal trail. The lookout provides a dramatic 180-degree view over the northern end of Lake Massawippi and the surrounding countryside. (more…)

This modern residential building is situated in the Wienerwald (Vienna woods), a
recreational area north of the city of Vienna. The slope property enables the
residents to get a good view over a hilly and wooded landscape. The residential
building stands out through its rural environment and its immediate proximity to the
urban office buildings of the Danube City Vienna.
The folded house combines two elements: The serpentine line gives the
impression to create more space. The building enables the residents to enjoy the
surrounding landscape with room-high windows to the south. The colour white
emphasises this leading element. A protecting wall on the north side completes the
folding of the room. The vertical development – realised as a light notch along the
whole building – combines both elements. The light notch adds more light by
additionally leading vertical daylight into the building and therefore enables a quick
orientation.
