NYC Information Center which has officially opened to the public on January, 21st, 2009, is projected to be a model for visitor information centers around the globe. One major thing which can be pointed out is the elimination of the need for dated print brochures. Most of information resources available in this building have been digitized. Alternatively, users can now place digitized “pucks” on the ‘Interactive Map Tables’, which trigger the mapping software and allows them to create custom guidebooks and itineraries of New York City
NYC Information Center interior design is enhanced by the perfect interior lighting. Ambient, adaptable, and color-saturated lighting exposed to create a maximum experience for visitors. Recessed light coves that run the length of the space infuse the center with a soft, white illumination while the light emitted by the various media displays brighten the interior of without the use of direct lighting
